Description: | One of a kind, artisan made chess set. Thirty two large pieces of finely, elaborate sculptured ceramics figurines. One side representing the free spirits "hippies" and the other the "establishment". The pieces are made of hard-solid ceramics and the construct reflects their spirited message - one side is clean-cut and the other lose. Whimsical, humoristic delivery of a unique set, likely Italian 1970s marked: The Doles on the King. Issues noted: The cowboy had of one of the pawn has been partially constructed and show discoloration. A king lost three of the prongs its crown crown. Should be easily corrected by a skilled ceramics artist. 2021. Sold. |
