"Turn of the century City Park", later "Park City", was created between 1975 and 1985. Made in pewter, signed and numbered 156 in a limited edition of 250, this masterpiece is called The Chess Wagon chess set, consists of a circus wagon, with driver, pulled by two Zebras on a pewter paved street set on walnut stand. The chess pieces are circus characters, all 32 of which fit on specific stands on the wagon. Wagon is 16" long and 13" tall. Made in hand-cast old world pewter, the white pieces with 24K gold overlay. Also included a fantastic molded chess board with mirror/gold dark squares. Street/base is over 30" long and 18" wide. Street/base weights about 70LB, Wagon 55LB and the Chess pieces and Zebras about 40LB. Fantastic art that is great to watch and scenery that is changeable and movable. Delight. Sold. |
