May 26, 2011: On further inspection, the material could also be cold-clay. It has a hard touch and feel, stone-like. Also not minor chip on the left footing of one white pawn. Can be easily painted over. Pawn are 1" tall. This is a Mongolian, Shatar set similar to what is described and pictured in the book Scacchi by Rodolfo Pozzi, Italian 2007 ISBN 978-88-6249-014-6 pages 199-233. |
